تاریخچه ارتودنسی

تاریخچه رشته ارتودنسی :
Ancient-orthodonticsدر مطالعات باستان شناسی شواهدی از وسایل ساده برای اعمال نیرو به دندانها وجود دارد که نشان میدهد بشر از دیر باز در پی مرتب کردن دندانها بوده است. رشته ارتودنسی اولین رشته است که در علم دندانپزشکی به صورت تخصصی به رسمیت شناخته شد. اولین مقاله در رابطه با ارتودنسی توسط Norman Kingsley در سال 1858 میلادی نوشته شد. در سال 1900 Edward Angle اولین طبقه بندی ساده را برای مال اکلوژن ارائه کرد. وی همچنین بنیانگذار اولین کالج ارتودنسی در همان سال و انجمن ارتودنسی آمریکا در سال 1901 بود و به همین دلیل برخی Edward Hartley Angle (June 1, 1855 – August 11, 1930)ادوارد انگل را پدر علم ارتودنسی می دانند.
